At Vetavize, protecting your information is our highest priority. We recognize the responsibility that comes with handling private data, and we have built our platform to uphold the strictest standards of security and confidentiality. This includes personal health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII). All inputs remain completely anonymous within the system, ensuring that your activity and records cannot be connected back to your personal identity. Every detail you provide is encrypted, safeguarded under HIPAA compliance standards, and accessible only to you.
Vetavize is committed to safeguarding the sensitive information of our veteran users by adhering to the strict standards of HIPAA compliance. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) sets the framework for protecting Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in digital platforms, ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
HIPAA compliance requires organizations like Vetavize to implement stringent safeguards for handling sensitive health and personal information. These safeguards include robust encryption, access controls, secure data transmission, and ongoing monitoring to prevent unauthorized access or breaches. At Vetavize, these protections ensure that your medical records, personal statements, and other sensitive documents are securely stored and transmitted through our platform.
Vetavize applies advanced security measures, including state-of-the-art encryption and multi-factor authentication, to shield sensitive data from cyber threats. All information uploaded to the Vetavize Vault is protected using HIPAA-compliant protocols that ensure data privacy at every step. Whether it’s your medical records, diagnoses, or evidence supporting your disability claim, your information is handled with the utmost care and protected from unauthorized access.
To maintain compliance, Vetavize conducts regular security audits, penetration testing, and monitoring to ensure our systems meet or exceed HIPAA requirements. These proactive measures allow us to identify and address potential vulnerabilities before they pose any risk to your data.
As a platform designed to serve veterans, we recognize the critical importance of trust. HIPAA compliance isn’t just a legal requirement; it’s a foundational element of our mission to provide a secure and dependable environment for veterans to manage their benefits. You can rest assured that your sensitive information is protected with industry-leading safeguards every step of the way.
By adhering to HIPAA regulations, Vetavize ensures that your personal and health information remains safe, private, and under your control, giving you peace of mind as you navigate the benefits you’ve earned.
Vetavize does not capture keystrokes, nor can we see any of the information you enter or the health issues you explore. You are free to examine as many symptoms or conditions as you wish, with full confidence that no one can ever track this history. No one…not Vetavize staff, sponsors, employers, or the VA can view your information without your explicit permission.
Your data will never be shared with third parties unless you authorize it yourself and only when doing so serves your best interests, such as submitting a HERO Report or providing a Health Assessment Summary to your healthcare provider.
All data stored in the Vetavize database is encrypted at the database level using Amazon RDS encryption protocols. This ensures that even if data were somehow accessed outside of the platform, it would remain unreadable and secure.
Every connection between our systems is encrypted using TLS. This ensures that data cannot be intercepted or altered while moving between your device, our application, and secure storage services.
Uploaded documents and sensitive files are stored in what we call the Vetavize Vault, backed by Amazon S3 encryption. We use managed AWS Key Management Service (KMS) keys, giving us strict access control and preventing unauthorized access.
Security does not stop at encryption. Vetavize employs multiple layers of access controls to prevent intentional or accidental misuse of data. This includes strict internal policies, automated monitoring, and real-time alerts to detect and prevent any unusual activity. We assume mistakes are possible in any system and have built safeguards that protect your information even in worst-case scenarios.
At every step, you decide when and how your information is shared. Your data is encrypted and private within Vetavize. The only time your information becomes visible outside the platform is when you download it as a report or summary. You can then choose to print or submit your reports to healthcare providers or the VA as part of an application for disability benefits.
Vetavize was built with the highest standards of data security so you can confidently share the details needed to receive the full benefits you have earned, while always knowing your information is safe, anonymized, private, HIPAA-compliant, and under your control.
